About Innovate at SA
Off-site plasterboard cutting and preparation from Elsenham, Essex
Since 2008, Innovate at SA has provided off-site plasterboard cutting and fabrication services, including CNC forming and prefabricated plasterboard components, for contractors, architects and design teams across London, the South East and the wider UK.
Based in Elsenham, Essex, we support drylining contractors, ceiling contractors, fit-out contractors and main contractors who need plasterboard components cut, formed, labelled, packed and prepared before they reach site.
Our role is simple: to take repetitive, dusty and time-consuming board preparation away from the site programme, so your team can focus on installation.
Why we started
Innovate at SA was started to solve a simple site problem: too much skilled labour was being lost to cutting, dust, waste and repetitive board preparation.
By moving those messy and time-consuming tasks into a controlled workshop environment, we can cut, form, label, pack and prepare plasterboard components before they reach site.
The result is cleaner preparation, better organisation and less pressure on the people doing the installation.
More than Manufacturing
At Innovate at SA, we don’t see ourselves as simply a plasterboard cutting company.
We see ourselves as problem solvers.
Every project begins with an idea, a drawing or a design challenge that needs turning into something practical that can be manufactured and installed on site.
From simple deflection head strips and fire-rated baffle boxes to complex curved features, bespoke ceiling details and one-off architectural components, we help bring drawings to life in plasterboard.
Curves are a particular passion of ours. While many manufacturers focus solely on standard components, we enjoying exploring what’s possible and helping designers and contractors achieve the vision shown on the drawings.

What we do: off-site plasterboard cutting services
We CNC cut, form, label, pack and prepare plasterboard and specialist board components for construction projects. Our off-site plasterboard cutting service covers everything from initial drawings through to packed, site-ready components.
Our work includes:
- Deflection head strips
- Baffle boxes
- Acoustic ceiling components
- Folded plasterboard details
- Ceiling and lighting details
- Plasterboard cut-to-size services
- Single-layer fire-rated board components
- Bespoke drywall solutions
Components can be packed by floor, zone, plot, room or drawing reference, helping site teams find and install the right pieces quickly.
A huge range of Possibilities
While we manufacture large volumes of practical site solutions such as baffle boxes, deflection head strips, plasterboard strips, acoustic ceiling components and cut-to-size plasterboard, we specialise in bespoke requirements.
Many of the projects we work on begin as a drawing, concept or design detail that requires a manufacturing solution.
Whether that’s a curved feature, a folded drywall detail, a bespoke ceiling element or a completely unique plasterboard component, our team enjoys the challenge of finding practical ways to make ambitious designs achievable.
No two projects are the same, which is exactly what makes the work interesting.
Our approach is simple:
If it can be designed, we’ll do our best to find a way to manufacture it!
Innovation is in our DNA
Innovation isn’t just part of our name. It’s part of how we think.
At Innovate at SA, we are constantly looking for ways to improve products, processess and installation methods.
Sometimes innovation means developing a completely new solution.
More often, it comes from small improvements that save time, reduce waste, simplify installation or make life easier for the teams working on site.
We believe those small changes can have a really big impact.
Every drawing we receive, every challenge we solve and every project we support creates an opportunity to learn, improve and do things better.
It’s a mindset that has shaped our business since 2008 and continues to drive what we do today.
Your board. Your rates. Our cutting.
We are not a board merchant and we do not need to replace your supply chain.
Contractors can send us their own board, drawings and cutting schedules. You keep your board supplier, merchant rates and rebates. We provide the cutting, preparation and organisation.
That gives you the benefit of off-site preparation without losing control of your materials, purchasing route or commercial arrangements.
Why contractors use Innovate
Plasterboard preparation on site can be repetitive, dusty and difficult to control. Measuring, marking, cutting and sorting components takes time, creates waste and pulls skilled operatives away from installation.
By moving that work into a controlled workshop environment, we help contractors reduce site cutting, reduce dust, reduce waste and improve consistency across repeat details. This is exactly why off-site plasterboard cutting has become the preferred choice for busy contractors.
- Less cutting on site
- Less plasterboard dust
- Reduced offcuts and waste
- More consistent components
- Faster installation
- Cleaner site logistics
- Better use of skilled labour
Who we work with
We support drylining contractors, ceiling contractors, fit-out contractors, main contractors and project teams who need accurate board preparation before materials reach site.
Whether the requirement is a repeat cutting schedule, a batch of baffle boxes, acoustic ceiling components, folded details or a one-off bespoke board solution, we can review the drawings and confirm the best way to prepare the components off-site.
Built around practical site problems
Innovate at SA was developed around the problems contractors deal with every day: slow preparation, inconsistent site cutting, wasted material, dusty working areas, awkward repeat details and avoidable remedial work.
Our workshop gives contractors a practical way to move those tasks away from site without overcomplicating procurement.
Send us your drawings or cutting schedule
Send us your board details, drawings, dimensions or cutting schedule. We can review the requirement and confirm whether it can be cut, formed, labelled and prepared off-site at our Elsenham workshop.
Delivery or collection can be arranged depending on the project.
